The Barbie of "Barbie Diaries" is somewhat different from her usual portrayal. She has strengths: working hard in school, singing, playing guitar, and a good sense of right and wrong. However, she also has weaknesses: shyness, and a lack of belief in herself. This Barbie also encounters the problems that real-life teens encounter: making new friends, dating, gossip, and getting involved in school.
